About ASA
The Automotive SerDes Alliance is a non-profit industry alliance of automotive technology providers collaborating to encourage standardizing of asymmetric SerDes technology:
Member Companies
The member companies of the Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA) come from all over the automotive ecosystem including car manufacturers, tier-ones, semiconductor vendors, cable and component manufacturers, and test houses. Having such a diverse and rich ecosystem ensures that the ASA standard is in-tune with market requirements and is optimized through the participation of industry experts.
Key Goals
- Define an interoperable standard including physical, data link & transport layer for 15m Coaxial and 10m STP channels with up to two inline connectors
- Allow for the following payload data rates for the asymmetric downlink up to 13Gb/s
- Allow for an additional bi-directional control channel
- Define conformance and interoperability test specifications
- Establish an industry wide adopted eco system for cable and connectors
- Enable security in form of authentication and data integrity
- Transfer the implementation related specifications to a standard setting organization
